Carrier Tape is a strip product used in the field of electronic packaging. It has a specific thickness and is evenly distributed in the direction of its length for the holes (also called pockets) for electronic components and the positioning holes for index positioning.
The carrier tape is mainly used in the electronic component mounting industry. It is used with the cover band (upper band) to load the electronic components such as resistance, capacitor, transistor, diode and other electronic components to be loaded in the pocket of the carrying band, and form a closed package by sealing the cap belt above the carrier band to protect the electronic components from pollution and damage during transportation. When the electronic components are attached, the cover is stripped and the automatic mounting device is positioned accurately through the index hole of the carrier. The components in the pocket are removed in turn and installed on the integrated circuit board (PCB board).
